In todays business arena customers are focused not only on the standard of the product or service being offered by an organization but also how that specific organization conduct them selves in the business. A company paying less attention to its people will find it extremely difficult to survive in the global context. On the other hand a company that implements proper HR practices will be seen as a better vendor in the eyes of the customer.
That s another reason why people management is important.
In the Global context yes, the foreign buyers are very much concerned about the compliance of labour regulations, Health and Safety and etc. However, compliance audits mostly focused on documentary evidence and the interviews are carried out with the hand picked workers who are selected by the HR department.

Employees are the ones that drive the company towards successful achievement of organizational goals. There should always be a healthy, two way communication between the organization and the employees. The Human Resource Management comes into play by creating the bridge or link between them. Strong HRM should be able to address the needs of the employees while gaining productive work from the employee to achieve the organizational goals.
Of course, people should not be treated as a cost but as a resource. And Management of this resource should not be entirely upon the HR department, but is also the responsibility of line managers. It is important to create a psychological contract with its employees in order to manage them,
